Slow-cooked apples and sweet potatoes culminate with brown sugar and honey for an early dessert at the dinner table. This recipe is so delectable it is sure to be a cool- weather favorite.

Ingredients:
2 braeburn apples, cored and cubed
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. apples juice
3 T. butter, melted
1 T. honey
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. finely grated orange peel
1/2 c. pecan pieces
Directions:
Place sweet potatoes and apples in a 2-3 1/2 quart slow cooker. In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, apple juice, melted butter, honey, cinnamon, and orange peel. Spoon over sweet potatoes and apples. Cover and cook on low 3 hours or until tender.
Meanwhile, in a heavy skillet, toast pecans over medium-low heat for 5-7 min., stirring frequently until nuts begin to brown, then stirring constantly until nuts are golden brown and fragrant. Sprinkle pecans over potatoes just before serving. YUMM!
